The first day of this was an epic fail, but that doesn't mean we stop. I'll put the same disclaimer, caveat, warning, whatever you want to call it, here as well: I'm looking for plus money plays or reasonable juice, playing at a smaller unit size than normal, and trying to figure this out. I've never really gone into player props before, so you're witnessing my success, or failure, in real-time. Lucky you.
As always if you want to get picks from the experts, click the Buy Packages link above. BTB and Jesse are having a phenomenal season and it is not slowing down here. And, for those of you that ask, yes, the package is 30 days of picks, no, the All-Star game/break does not count against your days.
Gerrit Cole over 18.5 outs recorded +130 (DK)
Cole has been strong since a bad start in Minnesota. In three of his last five games, he's pitched seven or more innings. He just needs to get to 6.1 innings this game. In his first matchup against the Guardians this year, he went 6.2. Take out the one bad start against the Twins and he is averaging 5.6 innings, per road start. Given his current form, I'll take the chance on him.
Rougned Odor under 0.5 hits +100 (DK)
Yesterday, I had what I thought was a strong case for Max Muncy not getting a hit. He hit a home run in his first at-bat. I'm taking Odor today to not get a hit at all. In his career against Sonny Gray, Odor is just 4-for-33 with 9 strikeouts. He's batting just .194 on the season, he's hitting .189 against righties, .176 on the road, and hit .145 in June. So... he's not been hitting well, which supports my thought in this one.
Ketel Marte (+440) to hit a home run (FD)
I leaned towards adding Kris Bryant to this, because he has homered off of Keuchel before. But, he hasn't had a homer all season, and is probably more likely to be injured than hit a homer at this point. So, I'm going with Marte. Marte has a homer off of Gomber in his limited appearances against him. And, although he is not a home run hitter, it is worth a shot at the value. But I'll be playing this at an even lower unit size.
