MLB Player Prop Bets for Wednesday, August 3, 2022

We have two plays to try our hand at today. One guy that most probably have no idea about, and another that is potentially the Cy Young winner for the season. Now that the trade deadline has passed, the MLB will bounce back to normal and the domination from BTB and BTBJesse will continue. There is still time to build that bankroll before football season. Buy a 30-day package.

Tyler Alexander under 2.5 strikeouts +115 (DK)

Alexander is not really even a starting pitcher. He has started five games for the Tigers on the season, and he has 15 total appearances. Alexander has struck out three or more hitters exactly once this season. It was his first appearance back in April. Can he strike out three Twins, sure. That's not an unreasonable number. But, the Twins are in the top-10 for the fewest strikeouts per game, and he went three innings July 23rd and had no strikeouts. I like this play for Alexander.

Sandy Alcantara over 7.5 strikeouts +130 (DK) 9+Ks +200; 10+Ks +350 (FD)

Alcantara is an absolute beast on the hill this year - I'll be the first to say I was way off on this one. He has the opportunity to face the Reds today and the depleted roster. Alcantara is 9th in strikeouts but has been fairly inconsistent with how many he gets. For example, he has only six games of his 21 starts with 8 or more strikeouts. My reasoning for liking this is two-fold: even before losing some players, the Reds were 26th in the league for most strikeouts per game - something that get worse with the trades. Also, Alcantara has had Reds hitters face him in 29 at-bats. He has struck them out 12 times - including four of six at-bats against Votto, and three of seven at-bats against Moustakas. If I'm putting $100 on this (arbitrary number) $50 on over 7.5; $25 on 9+; $25 on 10+.

Good Luck!
