Yesterday was easily our best day since I've started doing this. In fact, unless my math is wrong, we are pretty close to even after the initial struggles. Anyway, we pick up 5u. Which for me, is about the equivalent of five family pizza nights or something. It isn't crazy money I spend on these. That's the best advice I can give to anyone looking to get into betting. Take some time and figure it out. If you just start betting a ton on stuff, you're likely to go broke really quickly. Anyway, will we get another 5u today? No. I only have one play. But, you can always buy the MLB 30 day package and get the plays you should invest into.
James Kaprielian under 3.5 strikeouts +130 (DK)
Kaprielian is a tolerable pitcher. Nothing excites me about him, but he isn't an instant fade or someone you'd want to back constantly either. In this matchup, I think the value is here. He has 14 starts on the season. In those 14 starts, he has struck out three or fewer batters in nine of them. That's happening 64% of the time and I'm getting plus money on it? Sign me up. Now, Texas is in the bottom 3rd of strikeouts per game, so there is concern and Kaprielian has faced them twice (including his last start) and struck out four and two in the two games he threw. Last season he did face Texas six times, and he struck out four or more hitters in five of the six games, so of course, there is some risk here. The only other reason I can provide for liking this is that Kaprielian has a 5.40 ERA at home. He's been better in his last two starts, but it is possible that he doesn't last very long in this game and we can cash as a result of that, too.
Good luck if you choose to play it.
